Plot Trivia This is the first appearance of Poseidon. There was originally going to be a scene where Marina shows Poseidon her castle, where he offers her a merman in a plastic packaging for a husband, which she then promptly throws off the island. This was cut out from the final version, for unknown reasons. This is however, later reused for the entire plot for the Poseidon's Visit episode in the third season The chase sequence in this episode is a reference to the video game series Super Mario Bros.. This is the second to have a reference to the series, the first one being "The Island Tour". The pixelated chase sequence in this episode would later inspire the mobile game Zig & Sharko: Pixel Run. This game is currently no longer available on Google Play or Apple App Store. The gorilla with a barrel is also a reference to the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong.
